Since almost a year ago, I’ve been using a COSORI air fry­er in my home office. It’s great for mak­ing a healthy snack quick­ly when I’m hun­gry, and it does­n’t take up too much space on my small kitchen counter. I bought it online for just under $130, and I’d say it’s been worth every penny.

Pros and Cons of  Cosori

Pros

• User-friend­ly. You just choose one of the nine built-in settings.
• It can cook many dif­fer­ent kinds of food. I’ve used it to fry chick­en, make fries, burg­ers, and a lot of oth­er things.
• It turns off by itself, which is good for me because I can get dis­tract­ed and for­get that it’s on.
• The machine is easy to clean because it is made of stain­less steel, and the bas­ket can go in the dishwasher.
• It’s nice to look at, which might not be impor­tant to every­one, but it is to me.

Cons

When mine came, it smelled like plas­tic, which I did­n’t like, so I ran it for a cou­ple of hours with some water in it at 400 degrees. That worked, and every­thing has been fine ever since.

We used to have an Innsky 5.8QT as our main fry­er in the kitchen, but our daugh­ter loved it so much that we gave it to her when she went to col­lege and bought a new one for our­selves. She cooks it for her­self and her col­lege friends, and every­one seems to like it.

• There are sev­en dif­fer­ent set­tings, and you can grill, bake, or roast food.
• This machine makes food that is good to eat. I did­n’t know what to expect from my first air fry­er, but I was pleas­ant­ly surprised.
• The design made of stain­less steel is both nice to look at and useful.
• It’s a great present. My sis­ter-in-law loves the one we bought for her birthday.
• It is safe to use since it turns off by itself.
• Very easy to clean, and oil does­n’t get everywhere.

Cons

• There’s no way to warm it up before cook­ing, so you always have to turn it on for two or three minutes.
• As with the COSORI, I would run it for a while with just water in it when you first get it to get any smell out of the plas­tic hous­ing. I would tell any­one who just bought a new air fry­er to do this.

• It’s easy to fig­ure out how to use the con­trols. There are six smart pro­grams already built in that let you roast, bake, broil, reheat, and dry food.
• It looks well put together.

Cons

• Unlike oth­er air fry­ers I’ve bought, this one did­n’t come with any recipes and only had very brief instructions.

Maxi Matic EAF-05SS Electric Digital Hot Air Fryer

This Max­i­Mat­ic air fry­er is the only one on the mar­ket with a cook­ing bas­ket made of stain­less steel. Only the tra­di­tion­al buck­et-style air fry­ers have bas­kets; all the oth­ers have some kind of coat­ing on them. This means that the only option if you want a buck­et-style air fry­er is the Maxi-Mat­ic. When you see the word “stain­less steel” in the title of oth­er buck­et air fry­ers, this only means that the out­side of the unit looks like stain­less steel.

This mod­el is a good addi­tion to the mar­ket for air fry­ers, but it won’t blow you away. It does every­thing you would expect a mod­ern air fry­er to do. But it’s only about 3.2 quarts, so it’s not very big. Most of the time, this would only fit one per­son, or maybe two at a push. If you have a big fam­i­ly, you might want to think about some­thing else on this list. The way this air fry­er is made is also pret­ty old-fash­ioned for an air fry­er. It looks like Maxi-Mat­ic has­n’t changed it in a while. We hope that they will do this soon.
