Functionality

The KitchenAid 5‑Speed Hand Blender comes with a few attachments, while the Blending Arm has three interchangeable blades that are designed for different tasks.

Blending Arm with S‑blades (S‑blade, Multi-Purpose, Frothier/Beater) – It is for pureeing fresh fruits smoothies, soft pieces of frozen berries, blending milkshakes, mashing cooked veggies, soups, mixing sauces, and dressings; it can also crush small ice cubes, make baby food, you can also make with this attachment a perfect bulletproof coffee. You can transfer this immersion blender into a full-size blender when using the building arm and S‑blades with a 4‑cup blending pitcher.

Blending Arm with Multi-Purpose — They are mainly used for shredding meat, Cooked Meats, Beef Gravy, Liquidize Fruits, Minces, and Crushed Ice;

Blending Arm with Frothier/Beater Blades - If you need to mix pancake, muffin, or cake batter, this is the blade to fix. You can also use it froth milk latte, grapes, and cappuccino.

To froth milk, whisk egg white, or cream, you are to use the whisk attachment.

Whisker attachment — You are to use this attachment whenever you need to whip egg white or emulsify mayonnaise. You can also prepare hollandaise sauce and mousse using this attachment.

Chopper Accessory — This chops food like cooked meat, Graham cracker crumbs, nuts, beef gravy, Salsa, Parmesan Cheese, herbs, or vegetables. This can serve you well, especially when preparing baby food.

Motor Body

The KitchenAid 5‑Speed Hand Blender motor body is made of stainless steel, with a smooth transition to the non-slip rubber part. The motor body also has the speed control dial, power button, and 5ft long power cord, which is long enough to allow you to maneuver.

Although the KitchenAid hand blender has only a 200 watts motor, this is powerful torque-wise, allowing smooth blending even of thick mixtures. The blender is also equipped with a thermal protection system that automatically stops the machine if it is overheated.

Speed Setting

The blender comes with a five variable speed dial located on the top of the body unit and a one-touch power button on the front of the body unit. To start the blending, you select the desired speed, press the power button, continue holding it, and release it when finishing your blending. Although the multi-speed setting provides some flexibility over the blending process, the bad side of it is that you have to use another hand to change the speed while you hold the power button. Besides, the speed dial is slippery and not easy to turn.

Attachment and Accessories

The S‑blade bell is designed for blending, crushing, and pureeing tasks, Multi-Purpose is for Shredding, while Frother/Beater is intended for frothing and mixing.

Pan Guard and Bell Guard — Pan guards, are handy accessories; they protect the cookware from being destroyed by the blades scratching while in use. In addition, the bell guards protect the blades when storing them after use.

Whisk Attachments – the attachment comprises a whisk and whisk adapter designed for whisking tasks.

Chopper Attachment — Includes BPA-free chopper bowl 2.5 cups/20 ounces, chopper blades, and chopper adapter. In addition, the base of the chopper bowl is equipped with a non-slip base that prevents unnecessary movement while chopping.

Blending Pitcher — This is a four cups/1 liter BPA-Free blending pitcher that comes with the splash lid and is designed for blending larger batches of baby food, smoothies, and other tasks.

Afterward, activate it by pressing and holding the power button and start blending.

Whisk Attachment: It is assembled by joining the whisk gearbox to the whisk attachment. Then connect the gearbox to the motor body by twisting them until you hear a ‘click’ sound. Now, set your hand blender at speed and start your blending by pressing the power button and releasing it when you finish.

Reviews

Reviewers like the simplicity of assembling/dissembling the KitchenAid 5‑Speed Hand Blender and the idea of it having two shafts (the KHB2571 model only) that enable to blend of food both in shallow and deep cookware. In addition, a great number of people are satisfied with the excellent customer service and the smart packaging of the blender’s attachment. Customers also agree that the hand blender is sturdy and easy to clean.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, the KitchenAid 5‑Speed Hand Blender is a very good hand blender that has all the attachments that you may require, including the three different blending bells for a variety of tasks, a high-quality whisk, the  KHB2571 model has two-shaft of different sizes (13 inches and 8 inches). Moreover, the blender has five variable speed dials to allow you to choose the pace at which you wish to blend. Also, it comes with three pan protectors that match with each bell, preventing the scratching of your cookware. Besides, each bell has a snap-on that protects them from damage when they are not in use. Finally, there is an excellent plastic case for safe storage where everything is held except the chopping container and the mixing chopper. The only drawback of these modes is the location of the speed dial, which makes it difficult to operate the blenders with one hand touch.
